BEYONCE REDEEMED: I PRACTICE UNTIL MY FEET BLEED

Beyonce arrived at the pre Super Bowl news conference looking glamorous as usual.  She worked a long sleeved, bare back little white dress, polka dotted pumps, cascading side curls and a few special jewels. Much negativity has surronded the controversey behind the fact that she sang the national athem over a pre recorded track.

In true diva fashion Beyonce asked everyone to stand and proceeded to sing the national anthem with pure perfection. In the midst of the performance she received a loud applause and  after the Queen finished her performance she simply asked, 'Any questions?' As if her performance wasn't enough a reporter asked, 'Why didn't you sing the national anthem live at the presidential inauguration?'  Beyonce answered with class, 'I am a perfectionist.  I practice until my feet bleed.  Without proper rehearsal time with the orchestra and the impending weather, I choose to sing to a back up track which is common in the industry.' An industry expert later verified singing live to a pre recorded track is common with live national performances.

We can't wait to see what she wears for her Super Bowl performance.  Whatever she wears, one things for sure, for those who didn't know she could sing Beyonce has been redeemed!

RIHANNA CONFESSES: I HAD TO BE HAPPY. THAT'S WHY CHRIS AND I ARE TOGETHER

In the latest issue of 'Rolling Stone' to be released January 31, 2013, Rihanna makes a bold statement and affirms the rumors that she and Chris Brown are together as a couple once again.

Rihanna says that she evaluated what 'getting back with Chris' would mean to her public image and came to the conclusion that her 'happiness was more important than what others thought.'  The popstar dives deep into her emotions and equates being away from Chris Brown to, 'torment' and 'being in an angry dark place.'  Rihanna explains, 'after being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash.  I can handle it.'  It is plausible that the angry and darkness Rihanna felt translated into her music (Disturbia, Man Down etc.,)

During the Rolling Stones interview,  Rihanna goes on to say, 'But it's different now.  We don't have those types of arguments anymore.  We talk about shit. We value each other.  We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that.'

When asked about their future and the prospect of Chris Brown displaying future violent behavior toward her Rihanna responds, 'I cant say that nothing else will ever go wrong.  But I'm pretty solid in knowing he's disgusted by that (his previous abusive actions towards her).  And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a posibility.

The couple have reunited in the studio and continue to work on collaborations together.

TINA TURNER: NO LONGER AN AMERICAN CITIZEN

Tina Turner is a fool in love with Switzerland.  Earlier this year the Swiss authorities granted her citizenship as she has lived in Switzerland with her lover and music manager since the 1990's.

Tina Turner renounced her American citizenship and went on to say, 'I am very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here.  I could not imagine a better place to live."  Tina's representative went on to say, 'Tina Turner will also therefore be giving back her American Citizenship.'

Did Frank Ocean Snitch on Chris Brown? Did he not think so far ahead?

Chris Brown.  The name concocts many thoughts from his talent, to the fame and of course the abuse he inflicted upon Rhianna.  However, this latest event has many in the industry baffled and Chris Brown is now under investigation after a run in with Frank Ocean at a recording studio.

According to Chris Browns crew Frank Ocean and his entourage 'Odd Future' acousted the singer as he was attempting to leave the studio by announcing that Chris Brown was parked in Frank Oceans parking space.  Members of Brown's entourage insist that Frank Ocean started the brawl by announcing,'this is my studio, this is my parking spot.'  Sources say Chris went to shake Oceans hand and one of Oceans people attacked Chris.

Accordingly, a member of Chris Brown's entourage retaliated by hitting a member of Frank Oceans entourage.  Sources indicated the brawl escalated when Frank Ocean 'came at Chris,' causing the police to be called to the scene.

Chris Brown left the scene before police arrived.  Ocean informed the police that the brawl was over a parking space and that Chris Brown had 'punched him.' The incident occurred Sunday night.   Monday morning Ocean took to twitter and tweeted, 'Got jumped by chris and a couple of guys. lol. I only wish everest  was there.'  He also tweeted, 'cut my finger and now I can't play with two hands at the grammys.'

Since then Frank Ocean has cooperated with police and is pursuing pressing charges against Chris Brown as a Los Angeles County Sheriff released a statement saying that Frank Ocean is 'desirous of prosecution.'

The feud with Chris and Frank started after Chris issued what he thought was a compliment and stated on his twitter page, 'I fuck with Frank Ocean. Reminds me of a young James Fauntleroy or Kevin Cossom.'

My opinion: There is nothing wrong with being compared to an awesome writer/producer like James Fauntleroy.  He wrote and produced 'No Air,' (Jordin Sparks/Chris Brown), Take You Down (Chris Brown), Love Sex Magic (Ciara) and 6 tracks on Rihanna's album.  Likewise, Kevin Cossom is equally talented as he wrote and produced 'Knock You Down' by Keri Hilson, 'Karma' (Lloyd Banks), 'Go Getta' (Jezzy).

But somehow, some way Frank Ocean took offense to be compared to accomplished producers/writers and tweeted back, 'Chris Brown reminds me of a young Ike Turner.' And the feuding began.

Next, a member of Odd Future (Frank Oceans homies) chimed in on the tweet and stated, 'I just don't like under handed comments, thats all Im saying.'

Chris Brown retorted, 'Fuck odd Future! Make sure y'all smalltime niggas stick yo chess out when you speak to me.'

Oddly enough when Frank Ocean revealed that he is a /bi sexual/lover of both men and women  Chris Brown tweeted, 'My opinon on the whole Frank Ocean thing is love who you wanna love. Its your decision.  People stop searching for BS.'

Whats your opinion?

Rick Ross Drive By: Real or Staged?

Although his birth name is William Leonard Roberts everyone knows Rick Ross (William Leonard Roberts) has been involved with many disagreements over the last couple of years and has made many foes during his brief stint as one of the number one rappers in the game. More recently he came under fire (no pun intended) after a dispute with a gang known as 'Gangster Disciples,' who did not take kindly to the use of Larry Hoovers name in a song for which Ross (William Leonard Roberts) offered no retribution.

According to members of the notorious Gang known as the Gangster Disciples,  William Leonard Roberts had, in fact, agreed to perform at community events for the Gangster Disciples, at a discounted rate, of course. It is further alleged, that Ross, gave the Gangster Disciples incorrect contact information and therefore the Gangster Disciples were unable to reach him so that he could make appearances at community events as promised.  This caused a disturbance in the 'rap force field' known as 'the game.'

Recently, Rick Ross (William Leonard Roberts) has also been taken to court for the use of the name 'Rick Ross,' by the real 'Freeway Rick Ross.'   Although Freeway Rick Ross did not win his legal battle against William Leonard Roberts he (the real Rick Ross) continues to pursue and sue for damages.  Jay-Z and Def Jam have been included in the most recent lawsuit.

In a court proceeding, rapper Rick Ross (Willaim Leonard Roberts), was asked how he got his name.  His response was  unsettling as he stated, 'My friends just started calling me Rick Ross.' When the opposing attorney asked how he got the name, William Leonard Roberts could not provide a valid explanation.

Interestingly enough January 27, 2013 Rick Ross (William Leonard Roberts) was celebrating his 37th birthday. Both he and his girlfriend were met by a hail of bullets while leaving a diner at 5 a.m. this morning. Rick attempted to flee but instead ran his gray Rolls Royce into an apartment building. An occupant indicated the noise was so loud that she was knocked 'off the bed and onto the floor.'

Although no one was injured in the crash a number of businesses were struck by stray bullets.  On another note, rapper 50 cent (Curtis Jackson) took to his twitter feed taunting foolishly, 'Fat boy hit the building? Looks staged to me. No holes in the car.'  Curtis Jackson also took the liberty of posting pics of Ross's bullet-free car to his twitter page.

Would Ross stage a drive by in an attempt to validate his rap career as a gangsta? Or will he become another example of  'what NOT to do,' in the hip hop game?

Jack The Rapper Convention, Real or Fraud?

He is called, 'The Father of Black Radio,' and rightly so.  A radio DJ in the 1940's and 1950's, 'Jack The Rapper,' became famous for creating a new style of announcing.  Before Jack came on the scene all radio DJ's were allowed to sit and entertain distant audiences.  However, Jack created a new style for radio control rooms where he 'elevated the equipment' causing Disc Jockeys to stand, thereby allowing greater voice projection.  He was also the first National Director of Promotions and Public Relations for Motown.

In 1949 he opened the first black owned radio station station in Atlanta, specifically (WERD).  Everyone (Dr. Dre, Luke Records, Death Row Records, Method Man, Mary J Blige etc )who was anyone attended, 'Jack The Rappers Conventions in the 1990's.'  Unfortunately, Jack The Rapper passed away 13 years ago after a long, untimely bout with prostate cancer.

No one has held a 'Jack The Rapper Convention,' since the year 2000 'The Father of Black Radio's' passing.

Let's fast forward to present day. The 'New Jack The Rapper Convention' is being advertised as a three city convention event, targeting the following cities: Houston (All Star Weekend), Atlanta and New York City.

According to a lawsuit filed in early January 2013, promoters or shall we call them opportunists 'Steve "Face" Riley' and 'Billy D. Foster' (out of Atlanta) decided to organize this 'contrived' event without seeking permission from Mr. Jack 'The Rapper' Gibson's heirs or family members.  The lawsuit alleges, 'the promoters have chosen to pirate Jacks iconic moniker and promote their event as the 'new' reincarnation of the infamous Jack The Rapper.'

Should the hip hop community support this event or should we consider the refusal or neglect to obtain permission from his family disrespectful?  After all Jack does have family (he is survived by a daughter, son and grandchildren) who cared enough to file a lawsuit.

Almost forgot to mention Jacks family is planning to hold an 'authentic' Jack The Rapper' convention in later this year in Atlanta.  It is recommended that you keep your ear to the streets for the original.
